Quality Improvement

HealthPartners Institute for Education and Research can partner with you to design continuing education that supports performance and quality improvement.  Recent projects have included:

  • The DIAMOND initiative provided Performance Improvement Continuing Medical Education credit (PI CME) for health professionals participating in a depression screening and quality improvement project.  An article in Minnesota Medicine's November 2010 issue discusses PI CME, citing DIAMOND as an example.

  • The EBAN Experience ™ is a team-based collaborative that focuses on improving health disparities through community dialogue, experiential education and quality improvement projects.  The collaborative was a year-long endeavor, with nine teams of health professionals learning quality improvement methods and applying them to issues affecting the health of local communities. Each team also had a community member to provide advice on community concerns, barriers and other limitations in health care services.  The teams began their work in March 2011.

  • Health Professional Education in collaboration with the emergency medicine residency program at Regions Hospital, has created a quality improvement curriculum for all residency programs. An introduction to quality improvement, steps of the PDSA cycle and modules of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Open School are covered during conferences throughout the year.
