I graduated from Tehran University as a nurse-midwife in 1974. I worked in Iran as a midwife for five years, then moved to Birmingham, England, and practiced as a nurse-midwife for four and a half years. After moving to the United States in 1989, I received my M.S. in midwifery at the University of Minnesota. I am also specially trained in menopause counseling.
