The HealthPartners Travel Medicine Department's physicians and staff have extensive training in travel and tropical medicine and are certified by the International Society of Travel Medicine.
We have been recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as one of 15 sites in the United States and 39 sites globally to participate in the GeoSentinal program, which provides surveillance and monitoring of all travel-related illnesses. I already have all the necessary shots, should I still contact the travel medicine program?
In addition to immunizations we also offer current education materials on your destination and medications to take with you to treat common health problems.
I stay only in urban areas, do I still need to visit a travel medicine location?
Yes. Among other diseases, Hepatitis A, malaria and traveler's diarrhea can be acquired in urban areas.
