The HealthPartners Travel Medicine program is one of the leading travel medicine programs in the United States and the first travel medicine program to be established in Minnesota. The HealthPartners Travel Medicine Department's physicians and staff have extensive training in travel and tropical medicine and are certified by the International Society of Travel Medicine.

We have been recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as one of 15 sites in the United States and 39 sites globally to participate in the GeoSentinal program, which provides surveillance and monitoring of all travel-related illnesses. We are also recognized by the CDC as an official yellow fever vaccine center.

We have also been recognized as one of the Top 32 Travel Clinics in the U.S. in 2007 by Conde Naste Traveler Magazine

When should I make an appointment?
Make your travel medicine appointment as you begin to plan your trip. The earlier the appointment, the more time immunizations have to take effect.

How do I know what immunizations I'll need?
Our staff has special expertise in travel medicine. We'll look at your travel plans and health history to determine what you need.

I already have all the necessary shots, should I still contact the travel medicine program?
In addition to immunizations we also offer current education materials on your destination and medications to take with you to treat common health problems.

I stay only in urban areas, do I still need to visit a travel medicine location?
Yes. Among other diseases, Hepatitis A, malaria and traveler's diarrhea can be acquired in urban areas.
