HealthPartners sees record membership growth in 2007
Plan now insures more than 1.1 million people in Minnesota and western Wisconsin

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – HealthPartners today announced it has added more than 60,000 new medical members and nearly 20,000 new dental members in 2007 growth that is unprecedented in the history of the organization. HealthPartners now insures nearly 1.15 million people.
"Not only did we retain current members, we made many new sales, adding more than 200 groups in our middle and small group markets," said Mary Brainerd, HealthPartners president and CEO. "We also saw significant growth within our existing accounts during open enrollment."
"This growth is a direct result of HealthPartners commitment to providing excellent care, coverage and service for the people and organizations we serve," said Andrea Walsh, HealthPartners executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "We're honored to have been recognized for this work both locally and nationally."
In 2007:- HealthPartners was the top ranked health plan in Minnesota for customer satisfaction according to the National Research Corporation in the largest assessment of customer satisfaction in the nation.
- For the third year in a row, HealthPartners was the only Minnesota health plan ranked in the top 50 in the U.S. News/NCQA Best Health Plans report.
- For the seventh year in a row, the National Committee for Quality Assurance awarded HealthPartners "Excellent" accreditation status.
- HealthPartners won the National Quality Forum's 2007 National Quality Healthcare Award.
- The National Business Coalition on Health, which ranks 102 health plans around the country, awarded HealthPartners benchmark status in six out of seven areas in its eValue8 report.
- MN Community Measurement recognized the HealthPartners Medical Group for providing consistent high quality care for patients in its 2007 annual performance ratings. MN Community Measurement observed that the HealthPartners Medical Group scored three stars (top performance) on 10 of 12 quality measures.
