HealthPartners Hospice of the Lakes & Palliative Care Volunteers are active members of our care teams and play an integral part in providing quality and comfort care to patients and their loved ones. Thanks to our volunteers we are able to better serve and meet the needs of our patients. Below is a list of services that volunteers may provide.
Patient & Family Support
Volunteers provide companionship to patients and their loved ones through visits, running errands, and providing caregivers with a short break.
11th Hour Program
Experienced volunteers provide their presence in supporting the patient and their loved ones during the patient's last days or hours of life.
Certified Pet Therapy
Certified Delta or Therapy Dogs International (TDI) Therapy Teams use their pets to share the unique human animal bond with patients and their loved ones.
Bereavement Support
Volunteers visit with surviving loved ones and support them through the grief process.
Administrative Support
Volunteers may work at the HealthPartners Hospice of the Lakes & Palliative Care office assisting with such things as data entry, filing of documents and preparation of mailings.
Prayer Shawls
Volunteers knit or crochet prayer shawls for patients and their loved ones.
