HealthPartners Recognized as Leader in Diversity

September 27, 2006

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The National Association of Corporate Directors recently recognized HealthPartners for its commitment to diversity at the Advantages in Board Diversity dinner and award ceremony. HealthPartners received the Leadership in Board Diversity Award for its exemplary and long-standing commitment to having a board that represents a broad range of members, patients, employees and communities.

"HealthPartners is committed to eliminating health care disparities and this can better be accomplished through the valued perspectives resulting from board diversity. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment, and having a diverse board of directors is one of the ways we accomplish this," said HealthPartners senior director of diversity and inclusion, Karen Dobbins.

According to the NACD, in today's corporate environment, a diverse board can heighten a company's credibility with its various customers. More importantly, boards that seek diversity gain a greater variety of knowledge, expertise, experiences and backgrounds. For more information, go to NACD-MN.
