HealthPartners and TURCK Open Worksite Clinic
April 10, 2007
PLYMOUTH, Minn. HealthPartners and TURCK today announced the opening of a new worksite clinic called "HealthPartners Well@Work TURCK." Located in TURCK's Plymouth, Minn. manufacturing location, the new clinic exclusively serves TURCK employees who can make appointments online or by telephone. The clinic is the second worksite clinic HealthPartners has opened in the Twin Cities in less than a year.
Staffed by an Advanced Practice Provider, HealthPartners Well@Work TURCK offers wellness counseling, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of minor acute conditions such as colds, flu, gastro-intestinal disorders and headache and screening services such as blood draws and blood pressure checks (see list of services attached). A physician will be available for consultation by clinic staff at all times and clinic staff will immediately refer patients with serious conditions to the appropriate healthcare provider.
"We are very pleased to offer this benefit to our employees," said Dean McCaskill, TURCK president and CEO. "We pride ourselves on being a very progressive company with a clear focus on our employees and their health. Quality, on-site medical care with no copays will not only benefit our employees, it will help us maintain a high level of productivity and manage health care costs by promoting health and wellness and a lower overall level of absenteeism."
"When healthcare services are proactive, easily accessible and appropriate, employees get the right care at the right time," said Marcus Thygeson, M.D., HealthPartners vice president and associate medical director for consumer health solutions. "This approach not only keeps the workforce healthy, it helps improve employee productivity and keeps healthcare expenditures down."
Thygeson said innovative care approaches such as worksite clinics can contribute to lowering employer healthcare costs by focusing on the overall health and wellness of employees. He notes that American employers spend more than $300 billion annually on health insurance for employees.
Clinic hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Note to Editors: A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at TURCK, 5000 Fernbrook Lane N., Plymouth, Minn. today at 11:30 a.m.
