HealthPartners researcher wins Distinguished Alumni Award
University of Minnesota Medical Alumni Society honors deserving doctors

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – HealthPartners researcher, Leif I. Solberg, MD., has won the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Minnesota Medical Alumni Society. The award honors Medical School alumni who have made significant contributions to their community through medical practice, research, teaching or other activities.
"I am extremely honored to receive this award from my alma mater," said Dr. Solberg, "but it has been the opportunities and support provided by HealthPartners that really made it possible."
Dr. Solberg is the associate medical director for care improvement research for HealthPartners Medical Group and director for care improvement research for HealthPartners Research Foundation. He is a nationally recognized expert on systematic improvement in health care. The award cited Dr. Solberg for using "science and his solid understanding of the patient-physician relationship to improve care."
Dr. Solberg graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1963. He continues to share his knowledge as a clinical professor in the Medical School's Department of Family Medicine and Community Health.
