HealthPartners is national leader in business report on healthcare quality

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - HealthPartners has national benchmark status in a report, sponsored by the National Business Coalition on Health (NBCH). HealthPartners is the national benchmark in seven areas of healthcare in the 2008 report. The report is used by companies including Cargill, 3M, Medtronic, Target and the state of Minnesota to find the best value in healthcare. It provides information such as how many members with diabetes and heart disease get the right care, and whether health plans provide information about cost and quality so they can make informed healthcare decisions.
The report is sponsored locally by the Buyers Health Care Action Group (BHCAG). Data is gathered through eValue8TM, NBCH's standardized request for information, and then compiled for employer reference. This is the fifth year in a row that HealthPartners is the top plan in Minnesota and the third year in a row that HealthPartners has been the national benchmark in some categories.
"The eValue8 tool allows HealthPartners to demonstrate the ways we improve health and produce the best total cost of care," said Andrea Walsh, HealthPartners executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "It gives purchasers a good way to measure value."
This year, 111 plans participated in the eValue8 request for information including HealthPartners, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and Medica. HealthPartners is the national benchmark for the following areas:

This is the second national recognition in as many months for HealthPartners. Last month, U.S.News & World Report/NCQA America's Best Health Plans (www.usnews.com ) ranked HealthPartners among the top 50 best health plans in the U.S. for the fourth year in a row.
