Female cardiologist joins HealthPartners family of care

New hire part of growing womens heart care at HealthPartners Clinics and Regions Hospital

April 8, 2009

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. Kiran Pandey, MD, recently joined the HealthPartners Medical Group as a cardiologist practicing at Regions Hospital. Dr. Pandey specializes in womens health and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Pandey previously practiced with a large private cardiology group in Connecticut. She completed her post-graduate work in New York at the following institutions: University Medical Center at Stony Brook, VA Medical Center in Northport and St Francis Heart Hospital.

Heart disease kills more women than all cancers combined, yet a recent survey in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology reported less than 20 percent of cardiologists are women.

Regions Heart Center was named one of the nations top 100 heart hospitals by Thomson-Reuters in 2007 and 2008. The program includes research and disease prevention programs, cutting-edge diagnostics, and innovative heart surgery. Expanded and renovated in early 2008, Regions Heart Center offers the latest in patient comfort, privacy and safety. The Cardiologists also see patients in HealthPartners clinics.
