HealthPartners Clinics use electronic medical records to reach patients regarding the swine flu outbreak

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - With all the news about the Swine Flu outbreak, HealthPartners Clinics are using the online patient services feature of their electronic medical record to send information, updates and links to resources about the swine flu to patients.

HealthPartners has more than 150,000 patients enrolled in online services. A message sent yesterday included information on signs and symptoms of the swine flu and links to the Centers for Disease Control.

Online Patient Services are a set of secure, web-based services that allow patient to interact with their clinic, provider and medical records from a computer and gives patients a better way to solve problems by giving them more control over their care.

Online Patient Services are available 24-hours a day 7-days-a-week. Services include:
  • Online test results (90 percent of test results are available within 24 hours)
  • Access to medication list
  • Refill prescriptions
  • View and print immunization records
  • Schedule an appointment
  • Pay a bill
  • Consult with their care team
  • Have an e-visit with their provider
