Partners in Pregnency

HealthPartners Obstetrics is offering a new way to receive prenatal care — Partners in Pregnancy. If you want to spend more time with a provider, and participate in group discussion with other expectant mothers, this program is ideal for you.

Our Partners in Pregnancy groups consist of about 10 women who are due to deliver about the same time. The group will be led by a certified nurse midwife. There will be 10 group sessions, each lasting approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, scheduled throughout your pregnancy. During the visits, there will be time for individual monitoring of your pregnancy, discussion about pregnancy, birth, and new babies, and time to share with other expectant mothers. Often times, lasting friendships emerge from these shared pregnancy groups.

Your baby's father or other support person is welcome to attend with you. We ask that you not bring your other children as we don't have a good way to care for them.

The Partners in Pregnancy program includes private individual physical monitoring, group education, and support all in a relaxed, informal setting. This means you wont have to come for separate, individual appointments unless you have a medical condition that needs close monitoring.

If you find that the group setting doesn't meet your needs, let us know and we will arrange for more traditional visits for you.

If you are due in May 2010 and would like to participate in our Partners in Pregnancy program at Regions Hospital, call us at 651-293-8171.

New groups will be forming every month at a nearby HealthPartners Clinic. To get more information call 651-293-8171.
