How do HealthPartners and Medicare work together?
To enhance your coverage, you can replace Original Medicare with a Medicare Advantage Plan such as the HealthPartners® Classic Plan; or a Medicare Cost Plan, such as the HealthPartners® Freedom plan. We offer a variety of plans and coverage levels to match your lifestyle, care needs and pocketbook.
HealthPartners contracts with Medicare to offer all of these plans to you.
If you are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan, Medicare services are covered through HealthPartners and are not paid for under Original Medicare.
If you are enrolled in a Medicare Cost plan, Medicare services are covered through HealthPartners when they are obtained at network providers or qualify as emergency or urgently needed care when not obtained at a network provider. If you get routine services outside the plan's network without a referral, Medicare-covered services will be paid for under Original Medicare. In that situation, you would be responsible for the Original Medicare deductibles and coinsurance.
