Over the years, we have been facing constant challenges to provide effective and affordable healthcare services. We now face an unparalleled opportunity to improve healthcare and to reduce the number of people without access to services. We know that record numbers of seniors will need care. My 35 years of management experience in public and non-profit human services helps me to understand the problems we all face. My long-standing work on ethical issues provides me with an important yardstick in measuring effectiveness. As a social worker, I value the contributions of consumers to these programs.
