Good news! HealthPartners and CIGNA HealthCare today announced an alliance that offers a new national solution to locally based companies with employees or dependents in other states. The enclosed press release and letter from the leaders of our respective organizations tell more.
The alliance is effective January 1, 2007. It does not change your current benefit design or provider network until then.
We will provide more details soon. Right now, we simply want to make you aware of our enhanced ability to deliver a national solution that is seamless, complete – and price-competitive with other national alternatives. Highlights include:

- Administrative ease and simplicity. You can extend to employees and dependents the same benefits and coverage no matter where they live, work or go to school. Everyone carries the same ID card! Plus, you and your employees both will enjoy seamless service through a single point of contact – avoiding the duplication, hassles and hidden fees that too often typify other national partnerships.
- Significant cost-savings. Over the long term, we expect our combination of discounts, administrative efficiency and focus on trend-reducing quality care to result in superior value and a better return on investment than what other national partnerships offer.
