The 10,000 Steps program engages members to get active for a healthier lifestyle. Not only does it deliver better health, it also delivers more savings. Research found an average annual savings of $1,500 reduction in future claims costs for people who go from sedentary to low physical activity.*
Walk to Better Health
Participants who enroll in the 10,000 Steps program receive a free pedometer to help them track their daily steps. Research shows that taking 10,000 steps a day is equivalent to 30 minutes of moderate exercise. They'll also have access to a free online account where they can record their progress and get tips to help them stay motivated. If they like to swim, bike or participate in other physical activities, they can use the online conversion chart to add these activities to their daily step total.
