Bio:
Gary Collins, MD, was recently named department head of surgery for HealthPartners Medical Group. He joined HMPG and Regions Hospital in 2007 and has since served as a senior trauma surgeon, attended in the surgical intensive care unit and developed an acute care surgery service designed to provide rapid and effective access to patients who require the immediate attention of a general surgeon.
Dr. Collins is best known at Regions Hospital for the leadership he provides as associate medical director for quality in the hospitals surgery programs. His work in that area has received regional and national attention.
