Life Time Joins Frequent Fitness
Did you know that Life Time Fitness joins our Frequent Fitness program on January 1, 2007? That means members have more than 235 health clubs to choose from. And, we’ll reimburse qualifying members (two per household) $20 each. Frequent Fitness is standard for your fully insured clients and optional for your self-insured clients.

More Frequent Fitness Changes
Starting January 1, 2007, members will have to work just a little harder to participate in our Frequent Fitness program. Members must work out 12 times per month (rather than eight) to earn their $20 discount on health club dues. Why are we making this change? Because studies show that adults averaging three workouts per week are healthier, enjoy better quality of life and go to the doctor less often. The financial result is fewer copays, fewer doctor visits and reduced medical expenses, which ultimately means a more productive workforce and lower health care claims for your clients.

We’ve got a great new savings option for clients with members who don’t live near a participating Frequent Fitness club or who work out less than 12 times per month. Our new GlobalFit program offers discounts on joiners’ fees and monthly dues to both fully and self-insured groups – FREE.
Here’s what GlobalFit has to offer:
- Access to more than 2,000 top fitness clubs nationwide, including select World Gym, Bally Total Fitness, Ladies Workout Express and more
- Guaranteed lowest rates up to 60% savings on monthly dues
- Month-to-month membership options with no long-term contracts
- Additional discounts for family members/domestic partners
- Membership transfer and freeze options available at selected clubs
- Online Diet Programs, plus exclusive discounts on home fitness equipment, workout videos and more.

Formulary Exception Plan to Change - Reminder
Do you have groups transitioning from a closed-formulary plan to a preferred/non-preferred drug benefit? If so, the formulary exception process for member will change as of January 1, 2007, when they transition to the new plan.
Members will no longer need a physician-approved exception. They may now use their non-preferred drug benefit to get their medication. To ensure a smooth transition, members will be allowed to refill their prescription for non-preferred drug at the preferred copay level for four months. These members will then receive a letter from HealthPartners explaining that they can either switch to a preferred medication or they can continue taking their current medication and pay the non-preferred copay level.
