Vice Chair, First elected: 2008


Laura Oberst is an executive vice president and north region head of the Wells Fargo Commercial Banking Central Region. Her career with Wells Fargo started in 1984 and spans a number of positions from community banking to commercial banking.

Laura is currently a member of the board of directors for Greater MSP Economic Development Partnership. She previously served on the boards of the Northwest YMCA and the Voyagers National Park Association, as well as holding board and committee positions for industry associations both locally and nationally. Laura currently serves as the chair for Wells Fargo Leadership Council and is a member of the Metropolitan Contributions Committee. She chaired Wells Fargo's Minnesota Community Support/United Way 2012 Campaign and co-chaired the 2011 campaign. In 2015, Laura was named as one of Minnesota's "Top Women in Finance" by Finance & Commerce.

Laura was born and raised in Rugby, North Dakota. She is married to Pete Oberst. They have one daughter and two sons and live in Mendota Heights. She is active in her church, community and her children’s activities.
