Board member, First elected: 2012


Susan Hoyt’s career is in public administration. She served as the city administrator for the cities of Falcon Heights, Northfield and Lake Elmo, Minnesota. In this role she was responsible for managing city services, finances and development. She was also President of the League of Minnesota Cities and Metro Cities associations. In Susan’s work at the Metropolitan Council, she focused on engaging residents of diverse communities in planning for the expansion of the Light Rail Transit service throughout the Twin Cities metro region. Susan is recently retired as a special advisor to Management Partners, a national firm serving local governments.

Susan and her husband, Steve, have three adult children and live in Falcon Heights. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking and reading history. Her favorite activity is exploring the architecture and character of different urban neighborhoods and rural places. As a volunteer, she is engaged in local educational, civic and cultural organizations.
