As part of its continued focus on innovation and digital transformation, HealthPartners is excited to announce that it has named Maggie Helms senior vice president, chief data, AI and digital officer. The role brings together the organization's AI, analytics, data science and IT practices in a unified strategy designed to drive better outcomes for members, patients, care teams, employer partners and colleagues.

“We’re strengthening our ability to deliver greater value across our care delivery, health plan and internal operations,” says Andrea Walsh, HealthPartners president and CEO. “Under Maggie’s leadership, these combined capabilities will support efforts to enhance care outcomes, as well as member and patient experiences, and improve affordability.”

Helms has been with HealthPartners for more than a decade and is widely respected for her blend of business acumen, technical expertise, and collaborative leadership. She has played a central role in advancing the organization’s health informatics and data operations, helping to build a modern, reliable data ecosystem and a scalable framework for AI deployment and governance.

Helms’ new role is in step with the progress HealthPartners already has made in digital and AI — from improving clinical decision support, to enhancing digital tools that make it easier for members to access and navigate care, to advancing population health analytics, and increasing operational efficiency.

“The potential for AI in health care is immense, and at the same time, we need to ensure we're using it responsibly and maintaining trust with the people we serve,” Walsh says. “Under Maggie’s leadership, our approach will continue to be grounded in our mission and values and implemented with integrity.”
