HealthPartners President and CEO Andrea Walsh has been named one of the 2026 Fierce 50 honorees, recognizing individuals and organizations driving advancements in medicine, fostering innovation and shaping the future of health care and biopharma.

Selected by the editors of Fierce Healthcare, Fierce Biotech and Fierce Pharma, the annual Fierce 50 honors leaders and organizations making meaningful contributions, including advancing scientific discovery, improving community health to expanding access and reimagining how care is delivered.

“It’s an honor to be recognized among leaders who are working to make health care better for people and communities,” Walsh says. “This is a reflection of the incredible work of our 28,000 colleagues who bring expertise, compassion and a spirit of innovation to everything they do. Together, we’re focused on making care and coverage simpler, more affordable and easier to access while building trusted relationships with the patients, members and the communities we serve.”

Walsh has served as president and CEO of HealthPartners since 2017, leading one of the nation’s largest nonprofit, consumer-governed health care organizations. The Minnesota-based integrated health system provides health plan coverage to 1.6 million members and health care services to 1.4 million patients.

During her tenure, HealthPartners has continued to build on its reputation as a national leader in high-quality, affordable care and coverage. Walsh has focused on building healthy, high-performing teams and strengthening partnerships to improve health equity, children’s health, mental health and other important areas of community health and well-being.

Before becoming president and CEO, Walsh served for nearly 15 years as executive vice president and chief marketing officer at HealthPartners. She previously served as corporate counsel, leading legal, compliance and public affairs.

Walsh is on the boards of the Y of the North and the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. In 2020, she was named Executive of the Year by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, and in 2025 she was inducted into Twin Cities Business magazine’s Minnesota Business Hall of Fame.

“Now in its fourth year, the Fierce 50 continues to show that progress in this industry doesn’t come from just one place,” said Ayla Ellison, editor-in-chief of Fierce Life Sciences and Healthcare. “It’s showing up in the lab, in executive leadership, in community clinics and in advocacy work that never makes headlines. These honorees remind us that impact takes a lot of different shapes. We’re honored to celebrate all of them.”
