Meet Patricia L. Haroldson, CNM

As a certified nurse midwife, I am honored to listen to and support women and their families by understanding and respecting their health needs before, during and after the childbearing years. I believe in treating the whole person with respect to their heritage, culture and community. Good health requires balancing the body, mind and the spirit. I try to address lifestyle issues, encourage healthy choices and support patients’ active participation in their health care.

I’m interested in maximizing women’s health across the lifespan, providing care from adolescence through perimenopause. I provide preconception care and prenatal care, both through traditional means, as well as the CenteringPregnancy model of prenatal care. I have a special interest in humanitarian work and have been an active volunteer with Midwives for Haiti since 2012.

More about me

I have always been drawn to women's health as a nurse. I went on to become a nurse practitioner first and then a nurse midwife to provide care that empowers women and families in taking charge of their health.

I will listen and try to understand each person's needs in the context of their life story. I will partner with them to make sound health choices respectful of their culture and value system.

You can usually find me outside. I love to hike, be on and in the water, and I love northern Minnesota. I love to cook and share good food, music and laughter with friends and family. I enjoy experiencing new activities, new places, new people and new cultures.

Good nutrition, staying active and finding joy!

I was born in West St. Paul and currently reside in White Bear Lake, MN.

Energetic, playful, up for adventure, loyal and loves to savor the moment.

I wanted to be a nurse who could sing the blues and figure skate. I have sung the blues, but never quite mastered figure skating!

Never tire of seeing what is over the next hill – be open to the gifts life puts before you. My folks were immigrants and came to the U.S. with nothing. They worked hard and were always thankful. They taught me to be thankful and gave me the gift of resilience.

The Superior Hiking Trail and Lake Superior.

I have been a midwife at Park Nicollet since the service was just one year old and have seen so many great changes in the care we are able to give women and families.

Every health issue has a mind, body and spiritual component, and I strive to address all three in the care I give. I am a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
