Meet Amy F. Brandl, CNM

I thoroughly enjoy taking care of women over an extended period of time. One of the best parts of my job is making connections that last for years. I consider it a privilege to be part of my patients’ journeys through pregnancy and after. I find it so important to educate women about their health and encourage them to make healthy choices for themselves and their babies. I provide women with the information they need to stay healthy.

More about me

Providing care to women of reproductive age has always been my interest – either helping them prevent pregnancy or helping them during pregnancy and delivery. I find it so rewarding to make an impact on the life of a woman or child.

I feel it is essential to have an open dialogue with my patients, and I make sure they know I am available and approachable. I will listen to their concerns and involve them in decision-making. I encourage patients to make healthier life choices to achieve good health, but they can come to me with questions without intimidation or fear of embarrassment.

In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, running, alpine skiing, reading, traveling, spending time at the lake and spending time with my family (my husband, two teenagers and two black labs).

I exercise daily – hot yoga, running, mountain biking, walking, tennis, skiing.

I was born in Washington D.C. and moved to Minneapolis at the age of four.

Calm, thoughtful, generous, active and giving.

I wanted to be a pediatrician.

The abundance of lakes and the emphasis on outdoor activities year round.

I've had many years of experience in a field that I love. Taking care of women is truly my life's work. I like the informal nature of the midwifery team at Park Nicollet, including being addressed by my first name.
