Meet Christine M. Pui, MD
I enjoy caring for patients who have a wide variety of bone, joint and muscle problems and have a special interest in patients who have hip and knee arthritis. My goal is to improve my patients' quality of life by relieving pain and returning them to the highest level of function possible, with a focus on patient-centered care.
I focus on primary total hip and knee replacements, partial knee replacements, and complex revision hip and knee replacements. I have completed additional subspecialty training in joint replacement surgery and had the opportunity to train at the #1 ranked hospital for orthopedics in the country. Not only do I strive to be an excellent technical surgeon, but I also want to provide my patients with a comfortable environment where they feel that they are truly listened to and are treated with care, compassion and respect.
I am happy to have the opportunity to return to practice in the Twin Cities, where I grew up, and to be closer to my family. Outside of orthopedic surgery, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, photography and Pilates!

More about me
I became a physician because I admired my uncle’s, a pediatric hematologist, ability to make an impact on so many peoples’ lives. I was impressed with his capability to apply his knowledge to heal someone and positively affect not only his patients’ lives but also the family.
Patients can expect someone who will listen to them and find the best solution to their problems, someone who applies excellent technical skill to give them their best possible outcome, and someone who constantly strives to improve her knowledge base, skill set and technical abilities.
I like to spend time with my two young kids and husband, Pilates, cooking and traveling to new destinations.
Pilates, biking and eating healthy.
Hard-working, focused, always working to improve myself, loyal, responsible and family-oriented.
I've wanted to be a physician since I was in 5th grade. I worked really hard toward that goal through college but decided to take a break before delving into medical school and spent some time working in financial services in San Francisco. I loved that too but ultimately decided medicine was truly what I wanted to do.
“You can accomplish anything if you work hard.” – My dad
Family is very important to me and I love the fact that my parents, my brother and sister and their families all live so close to us. It gives us an opportunity to have all of our kids grow up together and be friends. Our relationships have changed and grown stronger over the years. We are so lucky to have each other.
I am a Fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). I have a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery and Joint Replacement from the Hospital of Special Surgery. I was a Health Policy Fellow with AAHKS.
