HealthPartners Center for International Health
HealthPartners Center for International Health was established in 1980 in response to the influx of Southeast Asians to Minnesota after the end of the Vietnam War. Initially called The Hmong Clinic, or the Southeast Asian Clinic, the clinic now sees patients from Iraq, Syria, Congo, Myanmar, and others, as immigration trends change Minnesota's demography. Since 1980, the program has expanded to include patients from more than 30 countries, with a staff of providers combining more than 100 years of experience in global health with extensive experience practicing both internationally and in the United States. Our International Mental Health program was established in 1984 offering psychiatry, psychology, and group therapy. We also employ a full time social worker and offer onsite interpreters for over 15 languages and interpreters via phone for virtually any language. Our bilingual staff is dedicated to providing culturally competent and humble health care to all patients. Soua- Suday! (Cambodian for have a nice day). We are actively involved in teaching and research in refugee and immigrant health.
