Get the mental health support you need from a caring team, three nights a week. Graduate from the program with more confidence, balance and independence.

What is the Intensive Outpatient Program?

The Intensive Outpatient Program is a mental health program from Regions Hospital. Your care team will help you create a personal healing plan and work toward your goals. You’ll do this while still living at home.

Who is the program for?

The Intensive Outpatient Program is for adults who are struggling with a mental illness. It helps people reach the goal of managing mental health with less frequent therapy or just medicine. Many people join the program after a hospital stay or partial hospitalization program. Others have new symptoms and need more intensive help. Your doctor will refer you into the program if it’s right for you.

How will the program help me?

Your care team will help you create a healing plan. You’ll work together to make personal goals and discover ways to ease your symptoms. You’ll learn and grow skills including:

  • Reducing stress
  • Tapping into your personal strengths for healing
  • Learning successful ways to cope with thoughts, feelings and behaviors
  • Growing relationship skills
  • Managing your medicine
  • Building problem-solving skills

When you’re away from the program, you’ll practice what you’ve learned. But you won’t be alone. You’ll have a supportive team by your side, working together to create a balanced lifestyle so you can thrive.
