HealthPartners Institute researcher named to National Institutes of Health study section

Elyse Olshen Kharbanda, MD, MPH, will be member of the Health Services Organization and Delivery Study Section of the Center for Scientific Review

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – April 15, 2015 – The National Institutes of Health has selected Elyse Olshen Kharbanda, MD, MPH, to be a member of the Health Services Organization and Delivery Study Section of the Center for Scientific Review,. Her five–year term begins July 1.

Study sections review and make recommendations on grant applications to the National Institutes of Health and survey the status of research in their fields of science.

According to the Center for Scientific Review, its members are chosen on the basis of their research accomplishments, publications in scientific journals and other scientific activities, achievements and honors.

Dr. Kharbanda is a research investigator at HealthPartners Institute for Education and Research. She earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and her Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University. Her research interests include teen pregnancy prevention, vaccine and drug safety in pregnancy, and clinical decision support tools to improve care for children and adolescents.
