January 8, 2014

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Jan. 7, 2014 – HealthPartners Cancer Care Center at Regions Hospital has received the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) certification from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The QOPI® Certification Program provides a three-year certification for outpatient hematology-oncology practices that meet the highest standards for quality cancer care.

“QOPI is designed by clinical experts in oncology to give practices the ability to continuously improve the quality of care they provide,” said ASCO President Clifford A. Hudis, MD, FACP.

The QOPI Certification Program (QCP) was launched in January 2010 and is the first program of its kind for oncology in the U.S. QOPI analyzes individual practice data and compares these to 160 quality measures. In addition to receiving QOPI certification, the Cancer Care Center at Regions also received accreditation with Gold Commendation, the highest possible, from the American College of Surgeons.

HealthPartners Cancer Care Centers are located on the Regions campus and at HealthPartners Riverside Clinic. The centers offer services to care for the whole person including palliative care, acupuncture, nutrition and survivorship counseling.
