BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Nov. 19, 2014 — HealthPartners Minnesota Senior Health Options (MSHO) (HMO SNP) plan has been named to U.S. News and World Report’s Best Medicare Plans 2015 ratings. The “Best” Medicare Advantage plans and the “Best” Medicare Part D plans were identified by U.S. News and World Report through plan rating data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

To achieve the “Best” designation, HealthPartners MSHO plan earned 4.5* out of 5 stars in the 2015 CMS Star Ratings. More than 500 Medicare Advantage plans were evaluated by U.S. News, with one in six receiving “Best” status.

MSHO is HealthPartners fully-integrated dual eligible special needs plan that provides specialized care to seniors age 65 and older who are eligible for both medical assistance and Medicare.

Annually, CMS evaluates and scores all Medicare plans in the U.S. on a scale of one to five stars, with half star intervals. Scores are based on a number of measures, including clinical quality, member satisfaction, customer service, medication adherence, safe medication use and operational excellence. The ratings are used by consumers to compare options and make choices during open enrollment periods.

*Note: Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system. Star ratings are calculated each year and may change from one year to the next.
