HealthPartners named 2017 Most Wired

Most Wired health systems use technology to partner with patients on health

July 10, 2017

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — HealthPartners is the only Twin Cities health system to be named a 2017 Most Wired award winner. This is according to the 19th Annual Health Care’s Most Wired® survey, released today. HealthPartners has received this recognition continuously for more than a decade.

According to the survey, Most Wired health systems are using smart phones, telehealth and remote monitoring. This creates more ways for patients to access health care services and capture health information.

“When the Most Wired survey first started, electronic records systems were rudimentary,” said Alan Abramson, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at HealthPartners. “Today, we have a combined EMR across the greater HealthPartners organization. Patients can access their data remotely, schedule appointments, refill prescriptions and interact with members of their care team. Coming next will be tools which allow patients and members to be even more directly engaged in their own health and well-being.”

The Most Wired survey also notes top priorities for many U.S. hospitals. Telehealth and IT security top the list this year. Using analytics to improve care delivery is also high.

HealthCare’s Most Wired survey is published annually by Health & Hospitals Networks (H&HN). This year’s survey represented an estimated 2,158 hospitals. Just 461 hospitals and health systems were selected as Most Wired.

“HealthPartners understands the true value of Health IT investments,” said Kim LaReau, Vice President of Care Delivery Information Systems at HealthPartners. “This award points to the good work being done at all our hospitals and clinics by the doctors, clinicians, nurses and staff who use the investments we make in technology to continuously improve the quality of care we provide for the people we serve.”
