HealthPartners launches TRIA Spine Care, the region’s most comprehensive spine care program

Combining a wide array of specialty practices will provide patients with easier access to a full spectrum of spine care.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — HealthPartners is excited to announce the launch of TRIA Spine Care, a comprehensive program that brings together expert spine care services from across the broader HealthPartners organization.

By building on the strengths of spine care services across HealthPartners, TRIA Spine Care will provide a simplified pathway for patients to find the care they need. Patients will have easy access to neck, back and spine care through online scheduling and expanded referral pathways.

“We’ve already been providing these neck, back and spine care services across our organization, but we saw the opportunity to make this wide spectrum of care easier for our patients to access by bringing it all together into one unified program,” said Teresa Tran-Lim, MD, senior medical director of neurosciences at HealthPartners.

As part of this change, HealthPartners is also re-naming Physicians Neck & Back Center, its unique physical therapy program designed specifically for patients with chronic neck and back pain. The new name will be TRIA Neck and Back Strengthening Program. This program will be a key part of the larger TRIA Spine Care Program.

“We’re continuing to reinvent ourselves based on what our patients say they need – a one-stop location for neck, back and spine care,” said Chris O’Hotto, PT, DPT, system director of rehabilitation and physician support services. “TRIA Spine Care can deliver that. With our focus on research and evidence-based care, we believe we can provide the most affordable, integrated neck, back and spine care services in the country.”

TRIA opened in 2005 as Minnesota’s first comprehensive center for orthopedic care. Since it became part of HealthPartners 2013, it has grown to meet the increasing demand for its innovative approach and now has seven Twin Cities locations.

“Research shows that musculoskeletal care continues to be the highest cost health benefit category for employers,” said Tom Walsh, MD, senior medical director of orthopedics for HealthPartners. “As an organization, we’re uniquely positioned to develop innovative solutions that reduce the total cost of care and ensure members have access to the best care with the best specialists at the best price.”

Patients will notice updates to signage and naming, and can expect a continuation of the same excellent care, now with the opportunity to connect to even more spine care services. Patients can call 952-831-8742 or schedule online at healthpartners.com/care/tria-orthopedics/services/spine-care.
