Methodist Hospital receives eighth straight A grade for patient safety
ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. – The Leapfrog Group has given Methodist Hospital an A grade for patient safety for the eighth consecutive time.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent non-profit committed to driving quality, safety and transparency in the U.S. health system. A grades are awarded to the top performing hospitals for their efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the U.S.
“We’ve worked hard to create a culture of partnership with our care teams which allows us to consistently deliver high quality care to our patients,” said Jennifer Myster, Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital president. “This award represents the continuous learning and collaboration that takes place each day to ensure safe environments for both our patients and each other.”
Through its Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, released twice a year, the Leapfrog Group assigns a grade, A through F, to 2,500 hospitals based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections and other harms among patients in their care.
Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades. It is peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
