Protect against measles

Updated: 6/9/17

Visitor guidelines

Guidelines have changed at Methodist and Regions hospitals to protect our patients, visitors, employees and volunteers.

Hospitals and birth centers

  • In our birth centers, we are discouraging visits from children under age 5.
  • Adults with no measles vaccine. Do not visit birth centers right now.
  • If your visit is essential, you must wear a mask and remain only in the patient room.
  • Keep your visit as brief as possible.

There are no visitor restrictions right now at our clinics. If you think you might have measles, call before visiting.

Call ahead if you have measles symptoms

If you think you might have measles, call us before visiting. Measles symptoms include coughing and red, watery eyes, followed by a rash. What you need to know about measles

Measles immunization

The best protection against measles is the measles vaccine. If your kids ages 1 to 6 haven’t had the MMR vaccine, make an appointment. Or, log in to your account to check if vaccines are up-to-date.
