The seven core competencies:\u00a0 clinical reasoning, knowledge for specialty practice, professionalism, communication, education, systems-based practice, and patient management are foundation of the curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of the curriculum include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Weekly live didactic instruction<\/li>\n<li>40 hours of independent clinical practice including 4 hours of weekly 1:1 clinical mentorship<\/li>\n<li>Facilitated; case-based; and small group\/peer discussion<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrations and lab practical: hands-on psychomotor practice<\/li>\n<li>PICO\/Evidence-Based Practice assignments<\/li>\n<li>Case analysis assignments (SCRIPT)<\/li>\n<li>Patient reported outcomes tracking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Mentorship <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Our mentorship model is designed to foster collaboration and growth among faculty, mentors, and residents. Each resident is paired 1:1 with a dedicated mentor, ensuring personalized guidance and support throughout the residency.<\/p>\n<p>Key features of our mentorship program include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Dedicated Mentorship<\/strong>: Residents receive four hours of dedicated mentorship each week, allowing for in-depth learning and development.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Weekly Didactics<\/strong>: A core group of five faculty members provide weekly didactic sessions, covering a wide range of topics to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Interdisciplinary Interaction<\/strong>: Residents will interact with various specialties and specialists within our practice (MD, PA, OCS, FAAOMPT, CHT, etc), enriching their learning experience and broadening their professional network.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our program is committed to developing highly skilled and experienced therapists through a comprehensive and supportive mentorship approach.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"outlined button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.healthpartners.com\/institute\/tria-institute\/tria-graduate-medical-education\/physical-therapy-residency\/residency-faculty\/\">Learn more about our faculty and mentors<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Additional Learning Opportunities<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Residents may have additional learning opportunities throughout their program.\u00a0 These may include and are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In house continuing education courses<\/li>\n<li>Case presentations<\/li>\n<li>Professional presentations<\/li>\n<li>Journal club and technique lab<\/li>\n<li>Service learning\/advocacy<\/li>\n<li>Literature review<\/li>\n<li>Observation: anatomy lab, surgery, physician clinic, hand therapy<\/li>\n<li>Clinical research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Preparation for OCS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We recommend that new graduates sit for the OCS exam within two years of graduation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Residents will matriculate through a curriculum of didactic modules over 12 months, divided into five terms.
