Research studies are designed to find better ways to prevent, diagnose or treat diseases and improve health. This research benefits the community in a variety of ways, such as finding out if vaccines are safe and identifying best care practices for chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. Study participants can contribute to the improvement of health and health care, locally and nationally.<\/p>\n<p>Taking part in a research study is completely voluntary.
