Regions Hospital is part of HealthPartners, <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MailCompose\">one of the country&#8217;s leading nonprofit health systems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>ASHP PGY-1 Purpose Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PGY-1 residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas, goals, and objectives. Residents who successfully complete PGY-1 residency programs will be skilled in diverse patient care, practice management, leadership, and education, and be prepared to provide patient care, seek board certification in pharmacotherapy, and pursue advanced education and training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY-2) residencies.<\/p>\n<p>Our program is dedicated to developing leaders and knowledgeable clinical pharmacists who will meet the current and future demands of the pharmacy profession. January 2, 2026 by 11:59 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">When will interviews take place?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Interviews will take place in January and February<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What if I do not have two preceptors from an acute care clinical experience for my letters of recommendation?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our program prefers that at least one letter of reference, ideally two, come from clinical pharmacy rotation preceptors in an acute care setting (e.g. inpatient or ambulatory clinical practice sites). This helps our candidate review committee best understand performance in a practice environment like our residency program.\u00a0 If you do not have two preceptors that meet this goal, the second letter may come from a preceptor who is able to speak to your abilities in our focused areas of clinical problem-solving skills, scope of responsibility, level of autonomy, and time management skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Will your interviews be on-site or remote?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Currently we are planning to offer both remote and on-site interview options based on our candidate preferences and pending any hospital restrictions based on COVID-19 guidance. Candidates who are offered interviews will be provided additional information. <\/div>\n<div class=\"clearfix\"><\/div>\n<p><strong><h2 class=\"collapseomatic \" id=\"id69eadd7dce07c\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"Program FAQ\"    >Program FAQ<\/h2><div id=\"target-id69eadd7dce07c\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \"><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How many positions are available in your PGY-1 program?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">When do residents need to be licensed by?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We highly encourage residents to be licensed as soon as possible, ideally prior to starting orientation. This helps facilitate the best training environment and ability to do hands-on learning\/practice as a licensed pharmacist instead of observation.<\/p>\n<p>Per our residency policy and ASHP requirements, residents must be licensed within 120 days of residency start date. Additional policy details will be shared with candidate invited for interviews.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What are your staffing requirements?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Staffing requirements currently include one weeknight per week, every third weekend, and two holidays. Staffing experiences include inpatient and sterile product dispensing as well as decentralized clinical areas.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What precepting opportunities do you have?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Precepting opportunities will be available as scheduling allows for both IPPE and APPE students during the year which may include layered learning, topic discussions, and formative feedback.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What other teaching opportunities are available to residents?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Formal and informal teaching opportunities for residents are available to both pharmacy staff and interdisciplinary audiences including non-pharmacy learners (e.g. medical students, residents, and fellows) and other members of the healthcare team.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">What electronic medical record program do you use?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>EPIC<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How do your residents select their research projects?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Residency research project ideas are identified throughout the year by pharmacy leaders, staff, and preceptors.
