Personal Profile

My special interest and field of expertise is Otology. I specialize in the fields of hearing loss, dizziness and balance disorders, surgery for chronic ear infections, otosclerosis, cholesteatoma, cochlear implants and implantable hearing devices.

A very important mission in my profession and career is teaching to resident physicians and medical students. I am Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota and direct the Otology clinic at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Listening carefully to patients' history and making patients feel at ease is my priority to provide excellent patient care. Being fluent in Spanish has given me an advantage to establish a very immediate and close line of communication to the Hispanic patient population.

When I am not at work you'll find me walking or bicycling along the Twin Cities lakes with my husband and two children or busy at home cooking Italian traditional dinners for friends and family.
