About certification

Personal profile

I chose to specialize in urology because of the urologists who encouraged and inspired me during my medical training. Today, I have a general urology practice that covers a little bit of everything, but I especially enjoy minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery.

Here at HealthPartners, I am the Chair of the Department of Urology and the Director of Robotic Surgery at Regions Hospital. I maintain a full clinical practice along with my administrative responsibilities. With more than 20 years in practice, I enjoy being in this leadership role, directing a team to help support the broad health care initiatives of the organization.

Patient satisfaction is my primary goal. I pride myself on being a good listener and strive to provide an individualized experience and care for each patient.

Away from my practice, I am the proud father of four grown children whom I enjoy visiting around the world. My wife and I exercise together regularly, are huge hockey fans, partake in the arts, enjoy our three canine companions and putter on projects around our century-old home.

I am a member of the American Urological Association (AUA) and the Canadian Urological Association (CUA).
