HealthPartners plans among top-rated in Minnesota

National Committee for Quality Assurance recognizes health plans for exceptional care and member satisfaction

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – HealthPartners is once again the top-rated Medicare plan in Minnesota, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).* HealthPartners Freedom (Cost)** plan received a rating of 5 out of 5 from NCQA.

HealthPartners is also one of the top-rated private commercial health plans in the state and one of the highest-rated health plans in the nation, with a rating of 4.5 out of 5.***

HealthPartners commercial plan was rated 4.5 out of 5 nationally for 2018-2019. NCQA has recognized HealthPartners as the highest or one of the highest performing private commercial plans in Minnesota for 14 years (2005-2018).

Each year, NCQA analyzes health plans on care and service measures. Health prevention and treatment measures make up 70 percent of a plan’s total score. Consumer satisfaction is 20 percent. NCQA accreditation makes up the last 10 percent. Consumers can use this information to compare plans.
