HealthPartners Member Services expands to St. Cloud

New location will provide members with additional assistance through annual enrollment this fall

September 20, 2018

ST. CLOUD, Minn. – HealthPartners opened a new member services location in St. Cloud this month with plans to add 25 member services representatives over the next year. The new location provides HealthPartners members with increased support and assistance in navigating their health plans.

The expansion comes at a time when members are seeking more personal, over the phone consultation regarding their care and coverage. Last year, HealthPartners member services received over 2.65 million calls. With call volume steadily increasing, the new office will serve as an expansion of HealthPartners current member services team and will support Medicare, public programs and individual plan members to better navigate their care and health plan coverage.

“Health care is confusing and it’s important for our members to have a trusted resource for support and guidance,” says Katie Sayre, senior vice president of health plan operations and government operations at HealthPartners. “Our new location provides members faster and more support at a time that can often be very vulnerable for them. St. Cloud has a fantastic market for candidates and we’re excited to add these new employees to the HealthPartners team.”

St. Cloud was chosen due to its proximity to other HealthPartners central Minnesota clinics and services. The expansion will also allow member services to provide HealthPartners members with additional support as they navigate a major change in the health insurance marketplace. In October, more than 360,000 people enrolled in a Medicare Cost plan will be required to select a new Medicare plan for 2019. St. Cloud and surrounding Minnesota metro counties are expected to be impacted most by this transition.

Currently, HealthPartners employs over 225 member service phone representatives. Each representative takes about 50 to 60 calls from HealthPartners members per day. The team has received high marks from both the National Committee for Quality Assurance and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). In fact, member services contributed to HealthPartners Freedom (Cost) plan receiving a five star rating from CMS.
