I’m buying my own dental insurance. What are my options?
There are two things you need to consider when choosing a dental plan: how much coverage you’ll need and what kind of network you want. Learn about your choices below. Full details are available in the Dental Summary of Benefits.
You can get three levels of dental plan coverage:
- Maintenance plan. For healthy teeth. You only need regular checkups and have occasional cavities.
- Major plan. Your teeth need a bit more care, like root canals and crowns. You can also purchase this plan if you get preventive services through another plan.
- Comprehensive plan. You need regular checkups and a little more, like root canals. This is the perfect middle.
