Who Should Attend

The OB/GYN Update is designed for family medicine physicians, obstetricians, gynecologists, midwives, nurses, nurse practitioners and health care professionals who provide care to OB/GYN patients.

Conference Objectives

At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the most recent developments for improving the health of women in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Recognize the opportunities for better education to patients in postpartum care.
  • Acquire one or more of the following abilities:
  • - Discuss the causes of pregnancy induced hypertension and methods for managing care.
  • - Discuss current prevention and screening techniques to reduce the risk of breast, ovarian and
    cervical cancers.
  • - Discuss signs and symptoms of heart disease risk factors in women.
  • - Review appropriate testing and treatment options for patients with recurrent pregnancy loss.

The 30th Annual OB/GYN Update will be held at the Prom Center located at 484 Inwood Avenue, Oakdale, Minnesota, 55128, 651-501-8191.

Accommodations

Participants of the conference may stay at the Hilton Garden Inn St. Paul/Oakdale, 420 Inwood Avenue, Oakdale, Minnesota, 55128. (This hotel is adjacent to the Prom Center.) Sleeping room rates begin at $105.00 (plus tax) per night and reservations should be made directly with the hotel by calling 651-735-4100. When contacting the hotel identify yourself as a participant of the HealthPartners OB/GYN Update to receive the group rate. Reservations should be made by March 21, 2012, after which date rooms are subject to availability and regular rates may apply.

Accreditation

HealthPartners Institute for Medical Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

13.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Cognate hours (formal learning) are being requested from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending.

State Board of Pharmacy as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education for Minnesota pharmacists. This program has been submitted for 13.5 hours of continuing education credit. Each pharmacist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she spent in this educational activity.

This program has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing’s criteria for 16.2 contact hours of required continuing education. It is the responsibility of each nurse to determine whether a continuing education activity meets the criteria established by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.

Cancelation Policy

The registration fee, less a $20 administrative charge, is refundable after the conference if cancellation is received 24 hours prior to conference date.
