About Us
HealthPartners Institute for Education and Research is a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving health through discovery, the translation of research and health professional education.
In 2012, two HealthPartners organizations with long histories—HealthPartners Research Foundation and HealthPartners Institute for Medical Education—combined to form the Institute. The new organization allows us to harness a unique synergy that will promote HealthPartners as a learning organization.
Our researchers are dedicated to conducting high-quality, public-domain health research, proposed and led by multidisciplinary teams of independent PhD- and MD-level investigators rigorously trained in statistics, economics, epidemiology, and other fields. Their work is often done in collaboration with other academic and research organizations throughout the world and in conjunction with HealthPartners medical, dental and mental health professionals.
Our health professional educators are dedicated to maximizing the abilities of people and systems to provide outstanding care. We provide nationally accredited graduate medical education, continuing medical education, clinical simulation and health professional education. We emphasize the use of quality improvement and experiential learning and have pioneered the use of theater in medical education.
HealthPartners Institute for Education and Research is part of a larger organization consisting of HealthPartners, Regions Hospital and clinics as an affiliated covered entity under HIPAA regulations. We are licensed as a private career school with the Minnesota Office of Higher Education pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, sections 141.21 to 141.32. Licensure is not an endorsement of the institution. Credits earned at the institution may not transfer to all other institutions.
