How we’re putting your gifts to work
The programs and initiatives we fund span a wide range, including mental health, kids’ growth and development, integrative therapies, improved hospital resources, scholarships, and much more. But what unites it all is a deep commitment to better health and well-being in and around Amery.
You’re a part of that commitment, too – everything we do is powered by your support. No matter what moves you to give, your donations are a vital part of what keeps every Foundation program going.
Discover your impact: 2024 Annual Report to the Community
While it used to be viewed as a “nice to have” in health care, philanthropy is now essential for our organization to continue to provide excellent care and meet our patients’ needs. It’s with your support that Amery Hospital & Clinic Foundation is able to provide programs and equipment to improve the health and well-being of families in our community.
We hope you’ll enjoy reading about some of these initiatives in our annual report and celebrate the work we do together!
Our funding priorities at Amery Hospital & Clinic Foundation

Area of greatest need
Thanks to unrestricted gifts, we can direct critical resources where they’re needed, when they’re needed. Your donations make it possible for us to respond quickly and flexibly when community health care needs arise.

Emergency Department improvements
With your support, we’ve already helped provide new, modern Emergency Department equipment. Next, we’re creating a brand new entrance to make the patient and family experience even better. The new Emergency Department entrance will enhance care, privacy and security with a dedicated waiting and registration area, a private room for family members, and more.

Mental and behavioral health care
Gifts to our Behavioral Health Fund provide modern, therapeutic, healing spaces for patients. Some of our current initiatives include interior renovations to patient and staff areas, as well as creating a calming outdoor patio for therapy and relaxation. We’re also focused on additional mental health programs in the community, including better access to behavioral health telemedicine and

PowerUp
PowerUp is a community-wide health initiative inspiring kids and families to eat better, move more and feel good. We partner with schools, families, organizations and the entire community to organize classes, events, activities, education and more. Together, we’re focused on empowering kids to reach their full potential.

Amery Community Garden
The Foundation supports a community garden located on the Amery Hospital & Clinic campus. Garden plots are available for $20 per season. Master gardeners provide gardening classes for the community, and the garden donates food to local food shelves and low-income residents. At the annual Amery Fall Harvest celebration, vegetables are donated to those in need.

Patient care
The Patient Care Fund enhances the healing experience at Amery Hospital & Clinic. Through access to calming spaces and soothing integrative therapies, patients can reduce their anxiety and have a hospital stay that’s a little easier.

Assistance funds
Assistance funds help both Amery Hospital & Clinic patients and staff in times of financial need:
- Good Samaritan Fund – This Fund helps patients who can’t afford important parts of their care, including things like prescription medication, transportation to and from appointments, and more. With help from the Fund, patients can focus on their health.
- Employees Helping Employees Fund – This Fund helps staff when immediate, essential expenses can’t be met because of unforeseen hardships related to an emergency. With help from the Fund, staff can focus on providing excellent care for patients.

Scholarships
Our scholarship program was established to assist local students who are pursuing an advanced education in medicine or nursing. Over time, the program has expanded to recognize the ongoing needs of both our community and our hospital for qualified, compassionate health care professionals.
The U.S. Postal Service has announced a postmark rule change effective December 24, 2025
Postmarks will now be applied at regional processing centers – often several days after you drop mail in your local box.
Why this matters: If you plan to claim a charitable gift on your 2025 taxes, timing is critical. A check mailed on December 31, but postmarked January 2 could be counted as a 2026 gift.
What you can do to ensure your gift is recognized for 2025
Please visit a USPS counter and request one of the following:
- Postage Validation Imprint (PVI)
- Manual postmark
- Certificate of Mailing, Registered Mail or Certified Mail
Please note that self-service kiosks and private carriers (FedEx/UPS) do not guarantee compliance for charitable contributions.
For IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs): Act early. The key date is when funds transfer from your IRA to the nonprofit, not the postmark.
Your generosity truly changes lives.
To make sure your gift counts for 2025, please take action today – and help us continue our mission of improving health and well-being in our community.
