Before starting the HealthPartners provider portal registration process, please note:
  • There are two registration paths: one for providers and one for third-party and billing organizations.
  • Your organization only needs to be registered once.
  • The first person to register is assigned delegate status to create and maintain accounts for other staff. Each user must have their own account. Delegates can also create additional delegate accounts as needed.

Health care provider registration FAQs

You can register via U.S. Mail. We’ll mail a pin code to your location to complete the registration.

If you have a check from HealthPartners, the vendor number is on the check (shown to the left of the date). You may also register with your Type 2 NPI instead.

Continue to register yourself. You’ll be able to let us know why the person registered is not able to assist you when you create your account.

No. After you register, use the Tax ID & NPI access application to add additional access to your account. If you don’t have a check number for validation, contact us in the Help Center for assistance.

No. You need to use the tax ID for your billing organization. You can add the provider’s tax ID after creating your account.

No. Billing services need to register separately through the billing organization option. This allows you to manage all your clients through one access point.

No. Once you’re registered, you can request access to all the providers you need. Go to “Tax ID and NPI access” to request additional providers.

You’ll have immediate access as soon as your client (the provider contact) responds to the request. This can be as soon as same day.
