We’re proud to announce plans for our new HealthPartners Como Clinic in St. Paul. This new clinic will replace the historic Como Clinic that opened in 1957, marking the next chapter for HealthPartners and a major investment in care for our community in the east metro.
Opening in late fall 2027, the new Como Clinic will improve access to care by expanding primary care, urgent care and specialty care services in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood.
We’re only moving across the street. The new Como Clinic will be located at 2501 Como Avenue in St. Paul, just north of the current clinic.
Our new clinic will have several new and expanded services, giving you even more of the care you need under one roof. With additional services, such as endocrinology, orthopedics and OB-GYN, you’ll save time and money while still getting the same exceptional care you expect. And with magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) and computed tomography (CT) capabilities, our new Como Clinic will have one of the most advanced urgent care sites in the east metro.
New services offered include:
- CT and MRI imaging services
- Endocrinology
- OB-GYN services
- TRIA Orthopedics clinic
- TRIA Orthopedic Urgent Care
Expanded services include:
- Cardiology (heart care)
- Dental
- Eye care
- Lab services
- Mental health care
- Primary care
- Radiology
- Urgent care
Our Como Clinic holds a special place in the history of HealthPartners. In 1957, it was the first clinic to open under what was then called Group Health. For nearly 70 years, this clinic has held a deep connection with our patients, colleagues and community in St. Paul. When designing this new facility, we knew we wanted to honor that legacy by improving the experience for patients, visitors and our care teams.
The new clinic will be 110,000 square feet and four stories tall, about twice as big as the current location. It features state-of-the-art technology, a designated patient drop-off area, ample parking space in the surface lot and ramp, and easy-to-follow navigation signs for improved wayfinding. The building will also be more sustainable, built with eco-friendly materials, an emphasis on natural light, drought-resistant landscaping and a building design that promotes bird safety.
The groundbreaking is scheduled for summer 2026, while the grand opening of our clinic will be in late fall 2027. More information about timing will be shared as plans are finalized.
The new clinic will be located just north of the current clinic – across the street, along the 2500 block of Como Avenue, just east of Highway 280 in St. Paul.
We have served patients and the community in the St. Anthony Park neighborhood for nearly 70 years. Being in the same general location while having additional space will allow us to continue meeting the needs of this community for decades to come.
We’re working with community members and city leaders to ensure our new clinic fits into the neighborhood as seamlessly as possible.
Yes, the current clinic will remain open until the new location is finished and open to patients.
While our current clinic has served patients well since it opened in 1957, it’s time for a change. The new building will be bigger and better, improving access to care and bringing state-of-the-art technology and new care services to the community.
Once our new Como Clinic is open, we’ll be selling the current building. We look forward to discussions with community members and city leaders as we determine what’s best for our community.
The overflow parking area just east of Highway 280 will not be part of the new clinic. There will be an adjacent surface lot and parking ramp at the new site.
We’re in contact with the Minnesota Department of Transportation to learn more about the project and its impact. HealthPartners is developing plans for how patients and colleagues will get to the clinic this spring. Planning will also look ahead to this summer to determine the easiest way to navigate to the clinic once construction begins.
