Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Our primary care doctors, OB-GYNs, certified nurse midwives and internal medicine doctors all provide expert care for everything from prevention to diagnosis to treatment.

  • Family medicine – You might choose to see one of our family medicine doctors if you would like the same doctor to care for your entire family. Because family medicine doctors work with your family over time, they become familiar with your family’s medical history.
  • Internal medicine – Internal medicine doctors can help with most women’s health concerns. Following menopause, many women choose to see an internal medicine doctor as their primary care doctor.
  • Internal medicine / pediatrics doctors – A combined meds-peds physician has a dual certification and can treat patients from childhood through adulthood. They treat conditions specific to child and adult health, as well as minor illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions.
  • OB-GYNs – OB-GYNs provide preventive care and guide you through milestones like family planning, pregnancy, childbirth, breast health and menopause. OB-GYNs are also qualified to perform surgeries, including cesarean deliveries.
  • Midwives – Midwives specialize in prenatal care, labor and birth and follow-up care after your baby is born. Midwives can also help with things like family planning counseling, breastfeeding and birth control.
  • Physician assistants – Physician assistants work in collaboration with our doctors. They diagnose and treat illness and injury, and can prescribe medicine for patients.
  • Nurse practitioners – Nurse practitioners can help provide specialized care for all of life’s stages. A nurse practitioner may specialize in sexual and reproductive health, pregnancy or a number of other specialties.

At many of our clinics, family medicine doctors, internal medicine doctors, OB-GYNs and midwives work closely together to make sure you get the care you need. This means you can choose the doctor who is the best fit for you, knowing a whole team of specialists is here to support you.
