Brian Rank, MD
Co-Executive Medical Director
As an Oncologist for the past 30 years, I see firsthand the challenges that people face when dealing with difficult medical diagnoses. We make a difference for our patients by supporting our doctors and teams to listen well and create strong, sustained healing relationships. This allows us to partner with our patients and their families to find the best care available, based on the best science and personalized to their preferences and values. It also allows us to help navigate the complex health care system and to keep care as affordable as possible.
Dr. Brian Rank joined HealthPartners in 1995 as Director of Medical Education and Internal Medicine Specialties. In 1996, Dr. Rank was named the Associate Medical Director for Medical Specialties and continued to serve in that position until he was named the Medical Director for HealthPartners Medical Group in 1998. In 2013, Dr. Rank became the co-Executive Medical Director for the Park Nicollet HealthPartners Care Group. Aside from his role as a co-Executive Medical Director, Dr. Rank is also a member of the Hematology/Oncology Section and maintains an active Hematology/Oncology practice.
Prior to joining HealthPartners, Dr. Rank served 10 years at Hennepin County Medical Center in several hospital and clinic appointments including attending physician in the Department of Medicine; consultant in the Division of Hematology/Oncology; Program Director, Internal Medicine Residency Training Program; and Director, Division of Hematology/Oncology.
