HealthPartners Medicare Advantage plans have enrollment capacity limits for calendar year 2027. An enrollment capacity limit is the maximum number of members a Medicare Advantage plan can enroll.

Once a plan reaches its government-approved limit, it will close to new enrollments. Please see the list below for the current enrollment status of each 2027 HealthPartners Medicare Advantage plan.

Current members of a plan listed above who live in its 2027 county service area are not affected by this change.

Please note: Individuals who are currently enrolled in a HealthPartners non-Medicare plan may still be able to enroll in a closed HealthPartners Medicare Advantage plan when they first become eligible for Medicare (typically at age 65).

In addition, HealthPartners Medicare Supplement plans, available in all Minnesota counties, remain open to all applications. These plans have no capacity limits.

We have enrollment capacity limits for our 2027 Medicare Advantage plans to help ensure we’re able to continue providing our members with a high-quality member experience and access to affordable Medicare options.

Our capacity limits were set above our 2026 enrollment levels to ensure we had enough space for our current members and for current members of our non-Medicare plans who will enroll in Medicare for the first time.

No. In accordance with Medicare rules, enrollment in a Medicare Advantage plan with capacity limits is open to all Medicare beneficiaries, both existing and new, until the enrollment capacity limit is met.

Individuals who are currently enrolled in a HealthPartners non-Medicare plan may still be able to enroll in a closed HealthPartners Medicare Advantage plan when they first become eligible for Medicare (typically at age 65).

We recommend you shop and enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan early to get the plan you prefer. If you wait, your options could be more limited because plans may have reached their enrollment capacity limits and closed to new enrollments.

  • You can enroll in a new Medicare plan starting Oct. 15, 2026.
  • If your current Medicare plan is not ending, Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) concludes Dec. 7, 2026.
  • If your current Medicare plan is ending, you’re eligible for Special Enrollment Periods that extend into early 2027.

All Medicare Advantage plan applicants will receive an enrollment confirmation letter or an application denial letter, depending on when their application is received and when the plan’s capacity limit is reached.
